Dr Leanne Cross started her career in Chiropractic in Blackwater in 2012 after graduating with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Masters of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in Sydney. She grew up in Queensland's South Burnett region so is no stranger to living in a regional area. Long passionate about health, fitness and wellbeing, Leanne has studied extensively including Certificate III in Fitness and Certificate IV in Personal Training, Certificate II in Dental Assisting and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Physical Education.
Before becoming a Chiropractor, Dr Leanne worked in the dental industry for almost 10 years in both general and specialist dental practices. This experience led her down the path of working with tongue and lip ties in her practice today. When you come in to the practice you will see that Dr Leanne also loves to work with families, pregnant mums and children to get their bodies working as well as they can. In fact studies show that when pregnant women get adjusted, they can decrease their labour time up to 30% (Fallon 1991). Always keen to further her knowledge, she is currently undertaking a two-year Dimplomate in Chiropractic Paediatrics.
Dr Leanne is qualifed in ABC™ (Advanced Biostructural Correction), NET™ (Neuro Emotional Technique) and Dry Needling Therapy and is currently studing the AK (Applied Kinesiology) Seminar Series to become a Certified AK practitioner. She has undergone seminars that qualify her to work with children and is also a member of the Chiropractors Association of Australia (CAA) and the Australian Spinal Research Foundation (ASRF) and has tutored chiropractic students at Central Queensland University (CQU) in Mackay. In her spare time, Dr Leanne loves to be on the water - particularly barefoot waterskiing and cares for the Queensland and Australian Barefoot Waterski Teams. In 2016 she competed at the World Barefoot Waterski Championships in Wisconsin, USA as part of the Australian Barefoot Team, placing 5th in her division.
