Before graduating as a dentist in 2003 (Adelaide), Dr Kobayashi completed a Bachelors of Science with Honours and a Masters of Science (MSc) degree (with Distinction) from the University of Otago, New Zealand.

After many years serving in the Royal Australian Navy as a Dental Officer, he returned to University and completed his Doctorate in Periodontics (University of Adelaide).

Since 2009 he has been providing periodontal care to patients at the Adelaide Dental Hospital and has been at Greenhill Periodontics since 2012.


In addition to his clinical practice, Kere also currently a lecturer at TAFE-SA; teaching periodontics to dental hygienists and since 2009 Kere has been a part-time lecturer and clinical tutor 3rd,4th and 5th year for dental students at the University of Adelaide.

He specialises in the treatment of periodontal disease, advanced bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, implant placement and the treatment of peri-implant disease.

Kere is a member of the following groups: Australian Society of Periodontology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, International Team for Implantology (ITI) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

He is the immediate past president of the South Australian branch of the Australian Society of Periodontology.
