Dr Xu completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in Beijing in 1997 and continued her training in China until 2001, when she moved to Australia to begin pursuing her interests in psychiatry. Having undertaken clinical experience in several Victorian public hospitals, she obtained her psychiatry registrar in 2011. Since then, she has worked in a number of public and private clinics in both metropolitan and rural areas, focusing on GP, skin cancer, and mental health services. Upon completing her rural GP service, she obtained a Fellowship from Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Having a child her own, Dr Xu is an experienced family doctor as well as mental health professional. She is currently in completing her Master of Psychological Medicine to further her clinical expertise in the mental health field
