Jenny’s love of obstetrics began as a medical student whilst living in at the Mercy Hospital for Women. She undertook elective placements in Dublin and Glouchester in the UK to be certain this was to be her future career. Whilst at Melbourne University she undertook an extra research year, (Bachelor of Medical Science) investigating the effect of Group B Streptoccocal infection in pregnant women and their babies.

Jenny completed her undergraduate medical degree in 1985, worked at the Austin Hospital then took a year to travel and study before entering obstetric and gynaecology specialist training program at the Royal Women’s. During this time she worked in several Melbourne Hospitals, Geelong and spent a year in the UK at Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot.

On her return to Melbourne she spent three years as a senior lecturer at Melbourne University teaching medical students and caring for public obstetric and gynaecology patients on the staff at the Women’s. During this time she undertook research into pre-term labour, being awarded her MD in 1995.

Jenny left the academic world to become Clinical Director of the Emergency Department at the Women’s for 10 years and during this time became a founding member of Women Obstetric and Gynaecology Specialists (WOGS) and had her two sons.

Jenny is currently an obstetrician on the Senior Medical Staff at the Royal Women’s and continues to teach and mentor medical students and specialist trainees. She has been an examiner for RANZCOG and contributed to publications on Female Genital Mutilation and the Emergency Care of Women.

She currently concentrates on helping women achieve their goal of a safe and successful pregnancy and delivery. She is equally happy looking after women with complex obstetric needs as well as those who are low risk but want the reassurance and continuity of specialist care.

Jenny keeps up to date by attending meetings and conferences several times a year and believes that being part of an innovative and busy group private practice is the best way to maintain skills and interest while having time away from work to spend with her family.

Outside work Jenny loves spending time with her sons and pets, cooking, gardening and relaxing amongst the tree ferns and mountain ash in the The Dandenongs.
