Dr Kenneth Koo graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed post-graduate advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Liverpool, Bankstown and Canberra Hospitals. Dr Koo was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2005. Dr Koo was subsequently awarded a PhD in the field of clinical epidemiology in bowel cancer in 2012. Dr Koo is a Specialist Gastroenterologist at Liverpool Day Surgery and Liverpool Public Hospital as well as a Conjoint Lecturer of the University of NSW.

Dr Koo’s special areas of interest include:

  • Screening for and surveillance of bowel cancer and polyps

As well as the diagnosis and management of the following conditions:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis)
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease

Dr Koo is accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy with polypectomy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and he performs these investigations at Liverpool Day Surgery to diagnose these conditions.
