Dr Elvie studied Biological Sciences then completed her Medical school degree at the University of the Philippines.
She has background training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Philippine General Hospital.
She arrived in New Zealand in 1990 - loving the lifestyle, decided to make this her permanent home.
She has trained in internal medicine in New Zealand with a special interest in geriatric medicine and adolescent health.
Dr Elvie was a New Zealand representative to the adolescent health committee for the Royal Australia College of Physicians for 2 years.
She has now completed fellowships at the Royal New Zealand College of GP and the Royal Australian College of GP.
Dr Elvie owns Onewa Doctors in Birkenhead, Auckland, New Zealand and has regularly over many years travelled between Australia and New Zealand working doing locums and is constantly updating her skills and knowledge at conventions and training events in Australia.
Dr Elvie is very well known to several Aged Care Facilities on the Gold Coast and is our Locum GP flying between the Gold Coast and New Zealand looking after her patients.
Dr Elvie also worked in this practice when it was owned by a different GP, so she is well known to the people of Varsity Lakes.
Elvie also looks after retirement villages, rest homes and private hospitals in New Zealand.
She is also a locum for air ambulance companies based in New Zealand and Australia and is GP trainer in New Zealand.
Elvie enjoys travelling, has a passion for sailing and fishing with her family and is always updating her medical knowledge in many fields.
