In his first year of training, he was awarded the President Medal for the Pharmacology exam and in his final year fellowship exam, was awarded an International Scholarship for the American Academy of Dermatology Meeting. Upon finishing his training, he was also awarded the Florence Bequest Fellowship for which he undertook further training in India, Belgium and France for management of pigmentory diseases and vitiligo.

He also attends the subspecialized vitiligo clinic at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, and has commenced autologous suspension cellular grafting for treatment of vitiligo.

Dr Gan has a wide range of interest in dermatological conditions, ranging from pigmentory diseases, complex rheumatology/medical dermatology, to skin cancer detection, reconstructive surgery, eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair, nail disorders and paediatric disorders. He is also accredited to treat axillary hyperhidrosis under the PBS Medicare subsidy.

Dr Gan’s interest in laser use in Dermatology started back in high school where he was the top 3 performing Physics examination candidate in national examination and high achiever in Olympiad competition. Dr Gan’s philosophy is to provide a comprehensive, up-to-date dermatology care, with clear focus on treating both the current problem and formulating a long term management plan.
