In 1982, long before he became our lead dentist, Dr David Cox earned his Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland. Since then, Dr Cox has worked internationally, owned and managed his own practice for decades, and garnered a renowned reputation in the dental field.
Dr Cox also developed a few special interests along the way, and they all have a common theme: the use of technology to make patients more comfortable and improve their outcomes. This includes laser dentistry and 3D scanners, topics on which Dr Cox has lectured internationally. He is the founding president of the Australian Association for Laser Dentistry (AALD) and has tutored other clinicians in sedation dentistry and the use of nitrous gas.
He is passionate about the power of technology to help make patients’ dental experiences more and more comfortable, improving the odds that people actually seek out the treatment and preventive care that are so important to maintaining oral health.
In addition to founding the AALD, Dr Cox is a member of the European Society of Laser Application, the Australian Dental Association, and the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Cox enjoys bike riding, surfing, and travel (“Especially travel,” Dr Cox has emphasised).
