Cate is highly experienced in all aspects of General Practice. Her special interests are Women’s Health, travel medicine, family medicine, sexual health and paediatrics. Cate graduated from the University of Qld with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. After completing her residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, she moved to the UK to train as an anaesthetist in London, Huddersfield and Edinburgh.
She returned to Australia in the ‘70’s and worked on the Gold Coast in General Practice, and as an Orthopaedic Assistant, and a Government Medical Officer (Police/Forensic Doctor) which involved attending scenes of crime, Coroner’s post mortems, treating prisoners and attending District and Supreme Courts as an expert witness. She also did medical retrievals from Europe and Asia for a medical insurance company and a Women’s Health Centre at Bond University.
She is presently a GP Advisor to the Chairman of an Australian listed biomedical company which is developing a device to detect and manage asthma attacks in children.
