Cameron will be undertaking “study leave” to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. Inpatients are treated in a state-of-the-art rehabilitaton hospital and the clinical training experience includes interventional pain management, electrodiagnostic medicine and musculoskeletal medicine.
Cameron is our Rehabilitation Physician, who has been with the team at SPMC for many years now. He is also the head of the Department of Adolescent and Transition Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and a Staff Specialist in Ambulatory Care and Rehabilitation medicine in the MacArthur Health Service, in Campbelltown.
He completed his undergraduate MBBS and Master of Medicine degrees at the University of Sydney, as well completing a clerkship at Harvard University during his undergraduate medical education. Cameron currently continues to enjoy teaching medical students and junior doctors via his academic appointments as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Sydney.
He is currently the Chair of the Education Subcommittee of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine for NSW and ACT, coordinating doctors in specialist training. As well, Cameron is a co-author of a textbook in adolescent medicine, and has his research published in a number of peer-reviewed journals. As with all other SPMC staff members, Cameron attends and presents at both national and overseas conferences, and is dedicated in his desire to achieve the best and most up to date treatments available for all patients at the SPMC.
