Angus completed a cardiac imaging fellowship in cardiac CT and MRI at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC. He undertook residency and advanced cardiology training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Western Australia. Angus undertook further specialty training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Qld completing his fellowship in cardiology from the RACP specialising in echocardiography. He was then appointed Staff Cardiologist at Ipswich Hospital, Queensland and Senior Lecturer in Medicine, UQ. There he ran the heart failure clinic and undertook further graduate studies and research in echocardiography and ultrasound in critical care.
