Dr Kingon set up the oral surgery practice at Ourimbah in 1992, and completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at London's Guy Hospital before completing his Master of Dental Science at Sydney University. He has worked in various hospitals and private practices in many areas of Australia, and throughout the UK, before establishing the private practice on the Central Coast in 1991. He also practised in Pymble from 1995-2019.

Dr Kingon has visiting rights at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital and Gosford Private Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons as well as a Fellow of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is a member of the NSW Society of Oral Surgeons, British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Australian Dental Association, and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has been Visiting Oral Surgeon to Alice Springs since 2014. Dr Kingon held numerous teaching and administrative positions while at the University of Sydney Faculty of Dentistry and Westmead Hospital Dental School, including being the first full-time Coordinator of the Diploma of Clinical Dentistry (IV sedation) in the early 1990’s. Dr Kingon is the current Vice-Chairman of the Australian Dental Association’s Dental Therapeutics Committee, of which he has been a member since 2007. He is also a member of the Expert Group for Therapeutic Guidelines Oral and Dental Version 3 (published 2019), as well as Version 2 (published 2012).
