Dr Zeldovich specialises in cataract surgery. In particular, she is experienced in performing cataract surgery on patients with co-existing and often challenging ophthalmic diseases such as glaucoma and retinal pathology. She currently works in this area at Eye Associates and has performed thousands of operations. She operates as an accredited surgeon at Sight Foundation Theatre and East Sydney Private Hospital. She has an interest in laser assisted cataract surgery. She also works as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, treating a variety of eye diseases.
Dr Zeldovich graduated from Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 1997. In 2005 she was awarded the inaugural Filipic – Greer Medal for ocular pathology in her final specialist examinations and completed her ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital in 2005. In 2006 she completed a fellowship at Eye Associates where she did further training in glaucoma, medical retina and performed cataract surgery at Royal North Shore hospital.
Dr Zeldovich is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, appears on its Honour Roll and is a representative on the NSW branch committee. She is a member of both the Australian and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and has been invited to write updates from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and World Ophthalmology Congress for local ophthalmologists. She has been appointed as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School.
She has published research papers in peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals including the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Orbit, Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, Retina and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr Zeldovich is also involved in reviewing ophthalmic literature and sits on organising committees for scientific conferences. She has co-authored book chapters and is involved in ophthalmic teaching. She also presents at Ophthalmology and GP conferences.
