Dr. Saxby graduated from Cambridge University Medical School where he gained first class honours. After moving to Australia in 2002 he completed his surgical training in New South Wales and became an ENT specialist in 2011. In 2012 he underwent further specialist training in advanced ear surgery at the prestigious Fisch Microsurgery Institute in Luzern, Switzerland and spent time at the Specialist Otology Hospital in Beziers, France before completing a Neurotology & Otology Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada at the BC Children’s Hospital and St Paul’s Hospital.

Dr. Saxby is well trained in all aspects of Paediatric ENT Surgery including tonsillectomy, grommets and complex paediatric ear surgery such as cholesteatoma. In adult patients, he specializes in all major ear surgery including ear drum reconstruction (myringoplasty), stapedectomy, cholesteatoma, and cochlear implants. He recently trained in the exciting new technique of keyhole ear surgery (endoscopic ear surgery). As a consultant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital he works as a part of the neurotology team to treat acoustic neuromas and other skull base pathology. He is also skilled in nasal and sinus endoscopic surgery for conditions such as chronic sinusitis, polyps and septal deviation and treats many other common ENT conditions such as sleep apnoea, snoring and nasal allergy.

Academically he has published numerous peer reviewed research articles and contributed to national and international ENT meetings, lecturing on instructional courses. He is actively involved with education of ENT trainees and medical students through his involvement with the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney.

He is a father of three and lives in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Dr Saxby is dedicated to improving indigenous ear healthcare in Australia and has recently joined the team at the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health at the University of Sydney, providing outreach ENT clinics to remote rural communities as well as setting up telemedicine clinics back in Sydney.
