Denise Perkins is Clinical Psychologist who provides counselling and treatment for difficulties including anxiety and worry, panic attacks, phobias, social difficulties, trauma; managing stress, conflict and tension; depression; interpersonal and relationship problems; managing life events; overcoming childhood trauma and abuse; managing challenging emotions; grief, loss and bereavement; workplace challenges; health related difficulties such as living with a chronic disease, sleep disorder or chronic pain.

Denise ensures a safe and respectful place for therapy where each individual is welcomed warmly and enabled to tell their own story and recognise their personal strengths. Denise’s style is warm, encouraging and occasionally humorous, while maintaining a professional focus on the matters in hand. Denise uses a range of ​different therapies, tailored to suit each individual. Therapeutic models used include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focussed and Motivational approaches and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Previous roles have included Coordinator of Lifeline’s Mental Health Information Service, Family and Relationship Counsellor with Anglicare Illawarra, Psychologist with the Greater Western Area Health Service Mental Health Service,Mental Health Team Leader and Senior Psychologist with the Royal Flying Doctor Service serving communities in remote NSW, Queensland and South Australia and Psychologist at the Dudley Clinic, Orange.
