Deirdre has been working as a clinical psychologist in private practice for over 20 years. She’s returned to the Northern Rivers, and specifically the Byron Bay region, equipped with the knowledge and skills to work within the integrated medicine model inherent to The Health Lodge philosophy. Her areas of professional competence include trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, phobias, depression, psychological impact of bullying and the psychology of chronic pain. Working specifically with adults and adolescents (12 years and over), Deirdre connects with her client in a deeply respectful acknowledgement that each person has within themselves the means to heal their psychological distress. Once the core issue is identified, a decision is made to resolve it. Deirdre uses client-focused, client-specific approaches, somatic mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to work within the parameters of the individual’s own core truth. Deirdre is skilled to help patients identify the underlying critical issue and then gently facilitates for the individual the means to allow their healing to occur.
