Chelsey is a forensic psychologist and PhD candidate with a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology. She has over 10 years experience working as a psychologist in the public sector treating and assessing adult offenders in a custodial setting. She has primarily worked for Corrective Services NSW where she specialised in the assessment and treatment of sexual and violent offenders. The past six years, she has worked in the Custody Based Intensive Treatment Unit (CUBIT) where she has treated high risk sexual offenders. She has worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice providing psychological services to juveniles remanded to custody.
Chelsey has worked in private practice, providing evidence-based treatment for people experiencing various clinical presentations including mood disorders, trauma and abuse, substance abuse and anger management/behavioural issues. She is a former Officer in the Australian Army Reserves, and has experience working with veterans and their families in the clinical setting. She is registered to provide services under Work Development Orders, and is an accredited clinician with the State Insurance regulatory Authority (formerly WorkCover NSW), and Veterans and Veterans family counselling services (VVCS). She is a member of the Society of Australian Sexologists where she works in the area of sexual health and provides therapeutic interventions for people experiencing sexual dysfunction or distress.
Chelsey is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS college of forensic psychology. She is a member of the International Research Centre for Investigative Psychology and has facilitated lectures both domestically and in the international arena. Her PhD research is analysing the criminal narratives and crime scene behaviours of sexual offenders who perpetrate against children.
