I received a broad training as a specialist general internal physician, as well as specialty training in endocrinology in the UK. After completing my training I went to Australia where I worked for 25years, first in community endocrine practice and then as a staff physician at John Hunter hospital, one of the teaching hospitals for Newcastle Medical school. I headed General Internal Medicine for 7 years and then was the Area Director of Diabetes for the Hunter region of NSW. In 2007 my husband took up a position in Canada & I left my home in Toronto NSW to start work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto Ontario. I became Head of the Division of Endocrinology at Sunnybrook in 2013. I returned to Australia in 2017 to spend more time with my family. I am passionate about improving diabetes care for all, and have conducted research to improve the delivery of diabetes services especially for those changing from children’s to adult services or in pregnancy; however I have experience in all areas of endocrinology including thyroid, pituitary and adrenal diseases.
