Dr Savage completed his Master of Science degree in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Melbourne in 1996, following on from my PhD at Monash and position as postdoctoral fellow at The University of London. He has combined clinical and academic roles in neuropsychology over the past two decades in a variety of settings: in Psychiatry at St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of Melbourne, in Neurosciences at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in Psychology/Neurosciences at Monash University/Monash Medical Centre, and most recently, in Cognitive Science and Psychology at Macquarie University.

Since joining Macquarie Neurosurgery in 2007 he has provided neuropsychological assessment services to hospital and clinic patients, with a particular interest in characterising thinking skills in the recovery phase following neurosurgery, compared with a presurgical baseline. Since 2011 Dr Savage has been Director of Clinical Neuropsychology in the Macquarie Department of Psychology, and a Chief Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders.
