Dr Jonathan Golledge has unrestricted registration with the National Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Vascular Surgeon. His current scope of practice includes the management of a full range of vascular disease, both arterial and venous. Dr Golledge has a particular interest in research to advance current treatment for peripheral vascular disease. Dr Golledge is leading a number of trials aimed at identifying new therapies for problems where no or inadequate therapies currently exist. After completing medical training at Cambridge University in England, Dr Golledge trained in general and vascular surgery in a number of centres in England. In 2000 Dr Golledge completed the final part of the College of Surgeons General and Vascular Surgery Fellowship exams and was accredited as having completed training in the United Kingdom. Dr Golledge moved to Adelaide in 2000 to undertake a clinical fellowship in Vascular Surgery. In 2001 Dr Golledge completed vascular training in Australia including successful completion of the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery. In 2002 Dr Golledge commenced a Vascular Specialist position at The Townsville Hospital and the Mater Hospital in Townsville. In 2007 Dr Golledge was appointed to the position of Director of Vascular Surgery at The Townsville Hospital. Dr Golledge also has a position as Professor at James Cook University where he directs a number of research programs aimed at improving management of peripheral vascular disease. Dr Golledge holds a number of other academic positions.
