Nasseema is a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents and adults. Nasseema is an empathetic and dedicated clinician who aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental experience by adopting a collaborative approach to helping clients achieve their personal therapeutic goals with the necessary skills and techniques. Nasseema has experience in counselling individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds across all ages and facilitating group based treatments across a number of settings (including primary and secondary schools, private and public mental health settings). She is passionate about providing a holistic, client centred approach that focuses on promoting both mental and physical wellbeing. Therapeutic approaches: To ensure that treatment is tailored to an individual’s unique needs, Nasseema uses a combination of evidence based theory and treatment. Nasseema offers both short-term and long-term therapy. Nasseema draws on a range of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness based therapies, Attachment based Therapy and Play Therapy. In addition, Nasseema incorporates a number of evidencebased approaches into her practice, including Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic approaches, Solution Based Therapies, Schema Therapy, and Parenting Skills training. Nasseema works with all age ranges with particular interests in trauma, attachments disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, depression, mood and anxiety disorder, adjustment difficulties, parenting, emotion regulation, stress and general well-being. Nasseema also covers areas such as specific learning difficulties, communication difficulties, specific developmental delay, and emotional disregulation. Nasseema is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) friendly clinician. Nasseema is also well-practiced in psychological assessments and report writing (child and youth intellectual assessment, adult intellectual assessment and personality assessment). In addition to English, Nasseema also speaks fluent French, Creole, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi. Nasseema is available at the Brandon Park office.
