“Mealtimes should be able to be enjoyed by the whole family. When a child does not have the skills to eat well and successfully, this can create stress for every member of the family. My goal is to help parents to understand why mealtimes may not always be successful and to provide them with the support and skills they need to help their child to feed successfully.” – Tricia Finkbeiner

Tricia has over 20 years of experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy, including  working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, general hospital populations, private practice, schools, preschools and home based settings. She has also previously been the oral motor skills co-ordinator at a clinic in Boston. Tricia is an engaging, knowledgeable, and compassionate Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting families affected by feeding issues. She creates a therapeutic environment to allow growth and change during mealtimes and develops individual, family oriented goals and treatment plans using evidenced based strategies. Tricia incorporates the SOS feeding approach in her work. This model involves the whole family completing activities at home to help decrease the anxiety and stress that accompanies having a child that doesn’t find eating enjoyable. Tricia believes that eating should be enjoyable for all and if there is heightened stress three times a day around mealtime, then she can help.
