Tiia Orth is the head Podiatrist at our Brookwater clinic. Tiia graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science (Podiatry) in 2012. Before Podiatry, Tiia had studied Medical Science at Griffith University on the Gold Coast and worked in Pathology. She made the change from Pathology as she missed the patient interaction.
Tiia’s podiatry skills were honed in Brisbane, and tested in the challenging regional setting of Mount Isa and Cloncurry. Her previous roles include head of a Bellbowrie podiatry practice and head coordinator of Podiatry for the 2014 Brisbane Oxfam Trailwalker event. Tiia has also assisted with the 2014 Brisbane Walk to end women’s cancers event, volunteering as a podiatrist for the 2013 Brisbane Oxfam Trailwalker event and was the podiatrist for the winning intermediate division team from CrossFit Lift at the Sydney Immortals CrossFit 2013 National championships.
Tiia believes strongly in an integrated and personal treatment approach, and loves getting to understand her patients and their specific needs. Whether it’s biomechanical issues, sports injuries, children’s musculoskeletal pain or a nasty ingrown toenail, Tiia enjoys putting her hands and brain to work. Being a member of the Australian Podiatry Association (QLD) ensures Tiia keeps her knowledge and skills up to date with the latest research.
When Tiia isn’t working she likes to spend time with family and friends, enjoying camping, surfing, trail walking and anything that involves adventure.
