Tamara is a psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders (such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and intellectual disability). She also has a passion for working with adolescents and adults with chronic mental health problems (depression, anxiety and personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder) which stem from complex developmental trauma. She has worked as a psychologist in a range of hospital, not for profit and private settings. She completed her PhD in 2013 which focused on gender, mental health, executive functioning and academic attainment in children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Tamara continues to work in research while practicing as a psychologist. Tamara primarily uses cognitive behaviour therapy to provide skills training to manage the symptoms of executive dysfunction and mental health problems in neurodevelopmental disorders. In adults with complex developmental trauma she uses schema therapy to help clients understand how early experiences have shaped maladaptive patterns of behaviour, emotions and thinking. Tamara can also provide Adult ASD assessments and child, adolescent and adult IQ assessments and academic assessments.
