I am passionate about women’s health and pregnancy, preparing women for birth and motherhood. I achieve great results and believe a healthy mum equals a healthy baby. I co-founded the Red Tent Mums Health Centre with Naomi and I’m the author of the forthcoming book: Hands on Birth – Eastern Wisdom & Acupressure For A Beautiful Birth. I’ve been studying and practicing Chinese medicine for over 14 years and hold a BA Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from UTS and have completed post graduate studies in Japanese acupuncture, women’s health, gynaecology and Paediatric Oriental medicine. Prior to that I studied yoga, massage therapy, completed a degree in Communications majoring Journalism and before that dabbled in a Bachelor of Science. I have always been greatly intrigued with health and have always wanted to be of service in that way. I had my own health problems when I was younger that responded almost miraculously to Chinese medicine in my early twenties – something that I was not expecting at all and that led me onto this path. It’s deeply rewarding and satisfying to be part of an anxious pregnancy journey that you can help turn around or be part of a woman’s pre-labour that was stalled and painful that then becomes free-ed up flowing. I get goose bumps when talking to mums about how much their children have changed for the better since starting Chinese medicine. I’m honoured to be working with such a great team and be able to meet and serve all the women and families I come into contact with. I teach online courses for Midwives (Acubirth®) that are accredited by the Australian College of Midwives and the American College of Nurse Midwives on pregnancy, birth, women’s health and post-natal care for mums and bubs. I’ve presented at midwifery and childbirth educating conferences as well as the Royal Hosptital For Women in Randwick. I have to say that I do pride myself on keeping informed and updated with the latest research. I run popular acupressure courses for birthing couples (Acubirth®) and online programs for parents on children’s health. Working in conjunction with your obstetrician, midwife, or GP, you can be assured I will take good care of you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and beyond. I’m a mum to two generous, warm-hearted children that teach me more and more about life every day. I’m also a yoga teacher, a lover of tea, fine chocolate and the odd glass of wine!
