Mieke Roelandt enjoys working with both couples and individuals with a desire to help people discover their inner strengths, develop insights, to find solutions, and make better choices for themselves. Mieke can work with a diverse and complex range of issues, self-esteem, identity, life challenges, grief, relationships in trouble, adapting to a new environment i.e. New Migrants, breakdown in communication, FIFO lifestyle and relationships, and multi-cultural marriages and relationships. Mieke enjoys assisting Couples, Families and Marriages where you have a mix of cultural backgrounds which can often be difficult in a close family structure to manage, and grow from. Mieke is well placed to work with families and couples struggling with these kinds of issues, as Mieke has lived and worked in different parts of Africa, Europe and Asia in a multicultural working environment. Mieke is very comfortable communicating and respecting people from all parts of the world. Mieke will work in a respectful, and in an understanding manner taking into account your respective beliefs and cultural backgrounds without judgment. A little bit about Mieke: Mieke is originally from Belgium, with the ability to speak fluent French, Dutch/Flemish, and a passive knowledge of German and Swahili, in addition to being fluent English. Mieke has worked in Foreign Affairs and was posted in different countries and worked with colleagues from various nations, and credits this with giving more practical insight into how different cultures may think, behave or have differing opinions based upon their own cultural background and experience.
