I chose to study Exercise Physiology because sport and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle has always been important to me. My involvement as both an athlete and a coach in my chosen sports of tennis and touch football lead me to my studies, but after completing my degree I became vitally aware of the need for EPs in all areas, not just sport related. I am passionate about exercise becoming a regular part of everyone’s lifestyle independent of age, condition or previous exercise history. Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology from the University of New South Wales in 2011. Since graduating, Megan has had experience working in a clinical rehabilitation setting, working with musculoskeletal conditions, orthopaedic rehabilitation, neurological conditions and exercise for clients pre, current and post cancer treatment. In particular Megan has a strong interest in Parkinson’s Disease, being involved in the provision of an exercise and education program for Parkinson’s Disease and further presenting the results of this program at the World Congress of Parkinson’s Disease in Portland 2016. Megan enjoys seeing the positive impact exercise can make on peoples lives, from improving daily function, to improved confidence and reduced pain.
