Magda is a registered psychologist who is passionate about supporting clients of all ages through challenging times in their lives. She has provided help to children from 2 years old and above in hospital and educational settings, worked with adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults in community and private practice settings in Australia and in Europe. During her training she provided a range of educational, occupational and personality assessments to individuals, couples, families and groups. Magda is experienced in providing short-term and long-term support for individuals and couples. She works collaboratively with her clients in a compassionate, non-judgemental and often humorous atmosphere to facilitate a learning of new coping skills, knowledge and communication skills. She uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-focused approaches, play therapy and psychodynamic therapy to holistically respond to clients’ needs and empower them to make meaningful changes. She enjoys working with clients who of culturally and linguistically diverse background, clients who identify as LGBBTQI; clients of diverse spiritual and religious beliefs. On more of a personal note, Magda was born in Poland and moved to Scotland as a young adult before arriving in Australia in 2011. She became interested in psychology as an adolescent and was drawn to aspects of psychology aid personal well-being by using a blend of scientific findings, emotional health and practical life and coping skills.
