Kelly has worked in both research and clinical psychology settings at the Royal Children’s and Women’s Hospitals for over 10 years. Prior to completing her Masters of Clinical Child Psychology at Melbourne University, she undertook a PhD studying the developmental outcomes of premature infants. She has co-authored several journal articles and books chapters in the area of prematurity as well as on managing anxiety in children before surgery. Kelly has extensive experience conducting developmental assessments on infants and toddlers as well as cognitive and educational assessments of preschoolers and school aged children. She has worked as part of a number of diagnostic teams at RCH, including the school function program, learning differences clinic and development assessment clinic (including assessment of autism spectrum disorder). She also has experiences and training treating children presenting with a range of difficulties, including ADHD, anxiety, needle phobia and anxiety surrounding medical procedures, adjustment to chronic illness, parenting issues and behavioural problems.
