Kathy is a registered clinical psychologist with over seven years of university training: a Science Degree (with honours, majoring in Psychology) from the University of NSW, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters degree from the University of Sydney. She has over 10 years counselling experience, has been employed by the University of Sydney to teach counselling skills to third year psychology students, and has supervised both TAFE and university students and experienced clinical psychologists. Kathy has held an honorary appointment at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and has been involved in research being conducted by the University of Sydney into the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders when alcohol abuse is also present.
Kathy has worked in a variety of hospital settings, including Northside Clinic (a private psychiatric hospital in Greenwich ), as well as in private practice and for the Department of Health in a community setting. She has provided psychological therapy to a variety of people, ranging from the homeless to the CEO of a large public company and an Olympic gold medal winning athlete.
Kathy is registered as a Clinical Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia and Medicare. She has previously been a member of the NSW State Executive Committee of the Australian Association of Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy.
