Ms Elise Carrotte (Psychologist)

Elise is a registered psychologist and clinical registrar with interest in both youth and adult mental health. She holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. As a therapist, she is authentic, empathetic, warm and non-judgmental.

Elise has a special interest in understanding and treating eating and body image disorders. Her Honours and Masters theses both related to body image. She has been trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of eating disorders. She is also interested in the role of intuitive eating to help with a more balanced approach to eating and body image.

Elise uses holistic and evidence-based techniques to help her clients identify their strengths and achieve their goals. She collaborates with clients to help identify their needs and to plan treatment. Her treatment approaches include cognitive behaviour therapy (including CBT for eating disorders), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT-informed therapy), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and supportive counselling.

Elise is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.

Elise is confident supporting individuals presenting with concerns including depressive and anxiety disorders, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, eating and body image disorders, stress, perfectionism, grief, relationship problems, low self-esteem, emotion dysregulation, and borderline personality disorder.
