Bronwyn also has a keen interest in treating anxiety and mood disorders, grief and loss, stress, trauma, pain management, life-transition and adjustment issues. She has undertaken training in individual therapy across a range of private practice settings within both urban and rural settings. Bronwyn has also trained as a facilitator of group therapy within a multidisciplinary inpatient mental health facility, as well as facilitating outpatient treatment groups to adults, older adults, and children.
Bronwyn developed a passion for women’s health when she started a family of her own. She is particularly interested in perinatal and infant mental health, relationships, and in supporting women who have persistent pelvic pain and sexual difficulties. Her passion for women’s health extends to her commitment to research, and she has recently investigated psychological treatments for women with endometriosis. This has given her a sound understanding of the therapeutic approaches that are most beneficial when working with this client group. She is continuing to research her area of interest with a team of psychologists equally committed to this area of investigation.
Bronwyn’s qualifications were gained from the University of Tasmania. Her Bachelor of Science (first class Honours) degree was awarded the Australian Psychological Society Prize in Psychology for first place at the end of an accredited 4-year program. After becoming a parent, Bronwyn completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical). She will be extending her formal training in 2018 by undertaking the Clinical Endorsement program, of which continuing professional development and clinical supervision is a core focus.
Bronwyn additionally holds qualifications in Family Dispute Resolution and Bachelor of Arts in Music (Honours), and enjoyed a career as a professional ‘cellist for over 10 years.
