Andrea is a board registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who specialises in assessment and intervention for a range of presenting concerns affecting children, young people and their families.

Andrea completed undergraduate and honours degrees in psychology at La Trobe University, followed by a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at the University of Melbourne. As part of her post-graduate studies, Andrea completed research into how visual processing may contribute to the social communication deficits seen in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her master’s research, completed in collaboration with Orygen Youth Heath, investigated the subjective experience of neurocognitive impairments in young people experiencing psychosis.

Andrea strives to always maintain a client-centred approach in her practice and believes that comprehensive assessment that considers multiple sources of information is essential to planning effective therapy. Andrea’s approach to therapy is grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; however, she believes that flexibly applying a range of evidence-based strategies is often the best way to ensure highly individualised and effective care.

Andrea also holds an appointment as a Clinical Psychology Registrar at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She is a mother to two primary school aged children and enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, cooking, reading and going for walks with her Staffy, Lucy.
