Phil is a foundation member of what is now known as Sydney Sports Medicine Centre which was established initially to provide medical support for the newly formed Sydney Kings & Sydney Flames basketball teams.
Finishing his studies in 1975 he worked for several years in community health & private practice at Chatswood. He then spent 15 years as a full-time teacher in the NSW Podiatry Course conducted by TAFE eventually becoming Head of Division. During this period he was the recipient of a NSW Government Project Fellowship which permitted him to study in the USA. He also acquired a Bachelor of Education & Bachelor of Applied Science (Podiatry).
During the 1980’s he consulted part-time in private practice in Cronulla. In 1990 he left teaching and commenced practicing at Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre and further developed his practices at Cronulla Family & Sports Medicine Centre & Sydney Sports Medicine Centre. Phil continues a more than 25 year involvement with Canterbury Bulldogs RLFC & has seen St George Illawarra players for 16 years. He has consulted with many of Sydney's top level sporting teams including the: Sydney Kings Sydney Flames West Sydney Razorbacks Parramatta Eels Penrith Panthers Cronulla Sharks North Sydney Bears Sydney Footballl Club
He has over his career served on the committees of Sports Medicine Australia (NSW) & the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW). He has also been consultant to Athlete’s Foot footwear retailer & currently is consultant to Running Science, a specialty sports footwear retailer.
