Luke completed his Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University in 2010 and completed an Honours degree at the Brisbane Lions in 2011, producing a thesis titled, “Stride Pattern Characteristics of a Repeated Sprint Test on Elite AFL Athletes”. He then went on to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy also at Griffith University in 2013. During this time he worked with the Gold Coast Suns AFL club in strength and conditioning and has been heavily involved with Papua New Guinea Cricket. Luke provided physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for PNG at the ICC Under 19 World Cup, the ICC East Asia Pacific T20 Qualifiers in New Zealand, the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Dubai, and the ICC World Cup One Day International Qualifiers in New Zealand. Luke is the current Physiotherapist for the Brisbane Lions Reserves team. Luke is a talented sportsperson himself, having represented his state at AFL, cricket and athletics (400m). He also enjoys playing golf and tennis, and loves to get out on his kayak to go fishing. With a particular interest in running mechanics, and rehabilitation of AFL related injuries, Luke’s career goals include providing physiotherapy services at the very top of elite sports- the Olympic Games, the Tour de France and a FIFA World Cup.
