Jeff graduated from WAIT in 1981 with a Diploma of Applied Science (Podiatry). This Diploma was converted at Curtin University to a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. He completed his Graduate diploma of Health Promotion and Education in 1991 and his Masters of Science (Podiatry) in 1999. In addition in 1999 he completed his surgical studies and graduated as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons.
Jeff commenced practice in Podiatry in 1982 working in private practice, in nursing homes and with Veterans Affairs. In 1984 he commenced employment with the Health Department working in community health centres in Lockridge and Kwinana. In 1989 he became the Podiatrist in Charge of Sir Charles Gairdner hospital and ran the hospital department for 17 years. From 1989 to today he has owned a number of private Podiatry practices, Myaree, Booragoon, Perth City, and West Perth; and now in Attadale and Nedlands. During this time he trained as a Surgical Podiatrist and practiced surgery for 6 years before retiring in 2006.
