Over the last 19 years I have provided psychological counselling to adults, adolescents, couples and families. Practice areas include: Anger Management; Anxiety; Communication; Conflict Resolution; Depression; Internet Pornography; Self-esteem; Self-harm and Sexual Abuse. My therapeutic interventions include: CBT; Psycho-Education; and Ego State; Family; Narrative and Solution Focussed Therapies.
My motto ‘working towards better mental health’ rests on my conviction that one of my key roles is to meet my clients where they are at. This allows me to gain an understanding of their situation. I then help them understand their own thoughts and behaviours. The client and I develop mutually agreed intervention / communication strategies and in-between sessions work aimed at positive behavioural change for a better quality of life. People ‘inviting me to be a guest’ in their lives in their times of need, is a truly humbling experience which I find professionally and personally rewarding.
