May is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). May completed her Master’s degree at Monash University, Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology and her undergraduate degree at University of Ballarat (Federation University). May works with adults, adolescents, children and families with various presenting issues including; anxiety, depression, panic, benzodiazepine dependency, social anxiety, perfectionism, chronic pain management, sexuality, grief and loss, emotion and mood regulation, anger management, interpersonal and relationship issues. May also works with people who have experienced trauma, such as sexual abuse and domestic or family violence. She has a particular interest working with clients experiencing issues with eating, poor body image, and treatment of Binge Eating Disorder. Additionally, May has extensive experience working with clients with Hoarding Disorder, or those identify as having difficulties with hoarding behaviours (i.e., clutter, acquiring, compulsive buying, unable to discard or let go of items). May works from various evidence based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic frameworks. May predominantly works from a person-centred (Humanistic) approach and strives to connect with warmth and compassion. She is committed to building a strong and safe therapeutic relationship, as evidence shows that this is a crucial foundation for positive change. May is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LBGTI) friendly clinician. May is fluent in English and has some working knowledge of the Thai language. She has a thorough understanding of Thai culture, however please note that May will not be able to conduct sessions in Thai. May is available at the Kew Junction office.
