June Chia is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She has 10 years of working experience in mental health, counselling and in the psychological fields. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and she is also a Member of the Counselling College of the Australian Psychological Society (MCCOUNP). June has been an Acute Mental Health Clinician for 3 years in the public mental health setting and a School Psychologist for 2 ½ years in rural Victoria. She was also a University Student Counsellor when she was a Provisional Psychologist at Swinburne University.  For the past 3 years, June has been in Private Practice. June is Malaysian Chinese by nationality. She has now been a resident in Australia for 12 years. June has studied in the United States and here in Melbourne Australia. She is familiar with the experience and challenges of having to cope as an international student and as a foreigner, she has her set of experiences in integrating with mainstream Australian culture. While not losing her personal essence, June has found her place and feels truly blessed where she is. As a migrant, she can understand the identity and cultural challenges that people from different backgrounds may face.
