Joy graduated with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland. She has experience in the management of sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal injuries and neurological rehabilitation.
During her Honours research, under the supervision of a world leader in the field of whiplash and neck pain at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Joy developed special interests in postural and muscle dysfunction following whiplash injuries. She has also taken additional training in the management of hip injuries, disorders and dysfunction. She is experienced in the treatment of Vertigo (BPPV) and can provide respiratory physiotherapy.
Joy’s treatment style is centred on the use of manual therapy and an individualised exercise program for the management of general musculoskeletal conditions including spinal and back dysfunction, and upper and lower limb injuries. She is also a qualified clinical Pilates instructor and incorporates elements of Pilates into her therapy.
Joy has also been involved in onsite coverage of sporting events, including BoulderFest at Urban Climb in Milton and weekend sports for the Greater Private Schools of Brisbane.
