Joanna is a Clinical Psychologist with over forty-thousand documented hours of face-to-face counselling. Joanna began her career at the grass-roots level in community based services, and then moved into working with government and private organisations of varying size, in the provision of psychological services, public psychiatry and eventually private practice. Joanna has largely worked with adults seeking to better manage their experience of anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, chronic pain and relationship issues. Since motherhood, she became more interested and involved in the evolving mental health of children and adolescents, and so now works with young people facing school refusal, bullying, poor self-image, eating disorders, self-harming behaviour and the seductive lure of the cyber world. Joanna is available on Saturdays for individual, couple and family counselling. She believes that in all matters, a good start is to be open and informed, to communicate with patience, courage, and a good dose of humour. Other than family, good food, and chocolate, her personal interests are live theatre, music, dancing, sci-fi and fencing!
