Jo is our Senior Speech Pathologist, and is a certified practising Speech Language Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. She has nearly 20 years’ experience working with children in both clinical and educational settings, and has expertise across a range of children’s communication difficulties, including speech sound difficulties, developmental delays and school-aged language learning and literacy difficulties.
Jo provides family and educationally focussed developmental speech pathology services, and has undertaken significant professional development over the years. Recent training includes PODD, Explicit Vocabulary Instruction, Alex Kelly’s Talkabout Social Skills Training, Play Skills, Understanding Dyslexia, PROMPT, Language analysis using SALT, and Hanen Parent/Child Interaction Programs.
Jo graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from The University of Queensland in 1997, and aims to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and management of children’s communication difficulties, using Evidence Based Practice (EBP3) across the range of speech/language areas. She believes that developing strong communication skills in children and young people underpins all aspects of life, including social participation and lifelong learning.
