Elyse is a registered psychologist with AHPRA, following the completion of a Masters of Forensic Psychology at the University of New South Wales in 2015. Prior to this, Elyse graduated with First Class Honours, completing both her Honours and undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Elyse has previously worked with complex clients in government rehabilitation roles in New Zealand, New South Wales and Victoria. Elyse has experience working with clients to address substance abuse, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and interpersonal issues. She has a special interest in working with clients to improve emotion and mood regulation and anger management. Elyse believes in the value of a person-centred approach and building rapport and understanding. Sessions are constructed to work collaboratively with the client in order to provide the right treatment. She believes in focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance, and has been trained to provide evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), behavioural activation, psychotherapy and mindfulness based therapies. Elyse has a number of years experience preparing reports for stakeholders, including the Justice system. Elyse is available at the Little Collins Street office.
