Dr Wee Ong (GP)

Dr Wee Sian Ong, born and bred in Singapore, graduated from the National University of Singapore's medical faculty in 1993.

After completing her masters in sports medicine at the University of Canberra in 1998, Dr Ong worked as a sports and exercise medicine physician in the military and various public hospitals in Singapore before relocating to Australia.

Dr Ong settled in Ballina with her family in late 2013 and worked at Ballina District Hospital for 3 years.

After joining general practice training program in 2018 she was awarded RACGP Fellowship in early 2021.

Career highlights include being the first female career medical officer in the Singapore Armed Forces and pioneering the sports and medicine services in Singapore's only Women's and Children's Hospital.

Dr Ong is also fluent in both Mandarin.
