Dr Vishal Malhotra graduated in medicine from the University of Delhi, India in 1996. He subsequently trained as General Paediatrician in Australia and became a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015. Dr Malhotra’s post-graduate qualifications include a Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health from the University of Sydney and a Master’s degree in Public Health.
Dr Malhotra has extensive work experience in General and Community Paediatrics having worked at the Children’s Hospital Westmead for eight years as well as regional and outer metropolitan hospitals. He previously worked as a Staff Specialist Paediatrician at Dubbo Base Hospital. His goal is to improve the health and quality of life of children with chronic diseases and to provide support to their families. Although, he has a broad range of expertise in general paediatric problems he has a special interest in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), urinary incontinence, childhood allergies and neurological diseases including epilepsy.
Teaching and research based activities hold special interest for him. Dr Malhotra is actively involved in bedside and practical clinical simulation based teaching of medical students and is a nominated RACP supervisor for Basic Paediatric Trainees. Recently he has become involved as a working group member for developing a framework for managing urinary incontinence in children and adolescents in the community.
