An (also known as Vinh-An) grew up in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2006. He completed his gastroenterology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015. He has spent the last two years as a research fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide, with a focus on endoscopic ultrasound and pancreatic cancer. In 2016, he was a visiting gastroenterologist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. He has also continued training in ERCP and endoscopic management of Barrett’s Oesophagus. He has remained involved in research and published multiple papers in peer-reviewed international journals. An has also presented at international meetings in Australia, USA, Europe and Japan. He currently consults at:

  • East Adelaide Medical Centre
  • North Eastern Community Hospital and
  • Windsor Gardens Day Surgery


and performs endoscopic procedures at:

  • St Andrew’s Private Hospital and
  • North Eastern Community Hospital and
  • Windsor Gardens Day Surgery
