My name is Victor Roseverne and I am looking forward to joining the team at Casuarina Health and Medical this year. I am in my 3rd term of GP training and am hoping to further develop my skills and experience during this chapter of my lifelong learning journey. I grew up in the Lower North shore of Sydney. After school I spent a year travelling around Australia and Europe. I studied Science at Sydney University with an honours in Molecular Biology and Entomology (the study of insects). I studied Education and majored in Secondary Science. I ended up working and living in a small Aboriginal community in the NT which utilised a Bilingual Educational Model. This meant that teaching was as much about learning for me as it was for the students. After 10 years, living and teaching in North East Arnhemland, it was time to move closer to family and embark on a career that further fulfilled my strong desire to help others. I gained entry into the University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine where my family and I lived for 4 years whilst I completed my studies. I completed my internship and Residency at The Tweed Hospital which introduced me to the local community in this beautiful part of the world. It also helped to familiarise myself with the local health district and various referral pathways for patients. My wife and I now have 4 children aged 18 months, 4, 7 and 9 years who attend the local schools and enjoy living here very much. I look forward to meeting the Casuarina community and hearing all of your stories.
