Dr. Preda is experienced in endocrinology having completed a Fellowship at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Metabolism and Endocrinology in the UK as well as a PhD on tumorigenesis pathways in sella masses. She undertook advanced endocrinology training at Royal North Shore Hospital after completing her core physician’s training. She also has a background in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care, having worked at a number of hospitals in the NSW Health network.
She has a Masters of Public Health and graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of New South Wales. Dr. Preda is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School teaching medical students as well as post graduate Masters of Internal Medicine students. She has more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in internationally respected medical journals and specialist textbooks.
Dr Preda continued her collaborative research with Oxford and Sydney Universities, writing her PhD on tumorigenesis pathways in sella masses including pituitary and endocrine cancers. Her research has been presented at several international meetings and in international journals.
She enjoys managing all aspects of endocrinology including: Type I and II diabetes; insulin pump use; osteoporosis and bone health; thyroid disease; endocrine disorders during pregnancy; PCOS; pituitary and adrenal disease; neuroendocrine tumours and cancer genetic syndromes related to endocrinology.
