Dr Verity Ahern is a radiation oncologist caring for patients with breast cancer and children who require radiotherapy. A UNSW graduate, Verity undertook her junior medical training at Westmead Hospital and returned as a Staff Specialist in 1996 after a 12-month Fellowship in Paediatric Radiation Oncology in Toronto, Canada and three years in London at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. She Chairs the Research Committee in the Radiation Oncology Department and was a founding member of the biennial Paediatric Radiation Oncology Teaching Weekend Course for ANZ registrars in Radiation and Paediatric Oncology in 1996, continuing as an active teacher on the Course ever since.
