Dr Challa is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Cardiology) and a practising Cardiologist for the last 25 years. He served as the Director of Cardiologist at the Cairns Base Hospital from 2004 and also was Associate Professor of Cardiology, James Cook University, Cairns till 2012. He was a VMO at Townsville general hospital and also the Princess Alexandra Hospitals.
He is currently serving as the Director of Cardiac Services at the Logan Hospital, Meadowbrook, QLD since 2012. He is also a VMO at The Prince Charles Hospital. He was instrumental in improving and expansion of the Cardiac services at the Logan Hospital.
Dr Challa is an experienced clinical Cardiologist and also trained with expertise in radial route interventions. He brings with him 25 years’ experience of flourishing academic and clinical career. He also served as the Divisional Director of division of Medicine at the Logan Hospital for three years until Dec 2015. He is also involved in teaching the medical students and junior colleagues at the hospital.
He has constantly endeavoured to improve his academic and clinical credentials by continuous medical education by attending conferences and meetings locally and internationally. His special interests are in all the areas of treating and preventing cardiovascular disease. His interests also involve advocating for patient safety and minimising clinical errors in medical practise.
